FAQ
How much freezer space do I need?
You will need around Sixteen Cubic Feet of freezer space per whole beef.
How many pounds of beef can I expect?
The amount of beef will vary from each animal, but will generally be around the following:
- 1/8 Beef ~ 50 lbs
- 1/4 Beef ~ 100 lbs
- 1/2 Beef ~ 200 lbs
- 1 Whole Beef ~ 400 lbs
What cuts will I receive?
Once you order, or upon request, you will receive a cut sheet with all the options available. A typical cut sheet would consist of 20-25% Steaks, 25-35% Roasts/Stew Meat/ Short Ribs, and 45-50% Ground Beef. When can I expect to receive Beef after placing an order? Do you deliver?
All orders will be fulfilled within 2 months of ordering. After an order is placed, you will be contacted by SRMC to select an exact date for pickup or delivery. Exact date will depend on availability. Remember - DELIVERY IS FREE.
How is the meat packaged?
All of the individual cuts of meat are vaccum sealed. Ground beef is packages in "tubes" or "chubs" in either 1, 1.5, or 2 lbs packages.
Is the beef grass-fed, grass finished? Or grass-fed, grain finished?
All Beef is born on local farms and is grass fed on pasture throughout its entire life. Once the beef hits 800 lbs we will start supplementing grain to achieve the highest quality of meat.
Does your beef have antibiotics or growth hormones?
No. All the beef we process is antibiotic free for a minimum of 45 days and never given growth hormones.
Stella Ridge Meat Company is a custom exempt meat processing operation acting under the Federal Meat Inspection Act (FIMA). We process beef that is raised by local farmers and ranchers. At no point in the process does SRMC take ownership of any animal or animal product which is being processed. We are strictly performing a processing and packaging service for our customers. We perform on farm slaughter only, which we believe is the most stress-free slaughter method, before aging the beef for the desired timeframe. Once the Beef is aged, we will process and package the beef in our inspective facility and clearly label each piece of product as "NOT FOR SALE."
